Flash Technical Data

Urgent! There's nothing displayed on the LCD screen of my laptop. Will I lose all my hard disk data ?
I bought my laptop in 2004 and have been using it for 3 years. A few weeks ago, the LCD screen was flashing non stop until I move the screen to a certain orientation. I carried my laptop to the technical support unit but the staff said they couldn't discover my problem after checking..... I tried to turn on the laptop this morning and the screen said Windows cannot be entered . It asked me to choose "safe mode" or "normal mode". I chose normal mode and the screen turned black. I removed the power and tried to turn the laptop on again. There's no response even if the on/off power light is still on. Nothing displayed on the screen. Now's it's even worse. Will I lose all the data in the hard disk ? I'm so depressed.
press F8 when the system boots and if you see the option - Restore last known good configuration choose that. If it works your laptop should be up and running except for some drivers in some cases. Move your data to some other drive if it's in C drive and install the Motherboard drivers if needed.
If tha above doesn't work and you have your data in a drive other than the drive in which windows is installed then try the repair option by booting from your operating system CD(ex: WinXP). It will ask if you have the emergency disk. say no to that. if this also doesn't work format the windows drive and reinstall it(do this with the help of a Tech support person)
You can also attach this hard drive in someother machine as a slave and backup your data.
