What's the photo called where one person faces forward, & another faces sideways in a profile shot.?
It is not a mug shot. The photography studios use to do these shots a lot,especially with siblings. One child would be looking straight forward, and the other childs head shot would be floating in the upper right hand corner staring up towards the stars.
I'm trying to find a tutorial for that, and it's not the mug shot tutorial.
That is called Shot reverse shot (or shot/countershot) is a film technique where one character is shown looking (often off-screen) at another character, and then the other character is shown looking "back" at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer unconsciously assumes that they are looking at each other.
Shot reverse shot is a feature of the "classical" Hollywood style of continuity editing, which deemphasizes transitions between shots such that the audience perceives one continuous action that develops linearly, chronologically, and logically
