What is the metal clamp for in the pool table starter kit?

I purchased the following starter kit for my pool table. What is the metal clamp for? Also, there is a long piece of metal with a ball point on the end and a piece of rounded black plastic. Can you tell me what these are for?

The clamp is for holding the tip in place after gluing it on so the glue can set properly. It comes in two pieces, the top of the long piece secures the tip while the sides of it align itself with the shaft. Then you're supposed to slide the metal triangle over it to keep it in place. However, these tend to cause damage to the shaft as the metal will tend to dig in to the wood.

The rounded black plastic with the sandpaper is used to shape the tip and make it round after initially putting it on. This actually works well and is faster than the scuffers which should be used only after the tip is shaped.

How can I view EXIF data of the photos and which equipment they used to take the photo with, if there's a way2

The photographer can choose to show or hide EXIF data on uploaded photos, so you won't always have the option to see it.

If the photographer has turned this ON, you can look in the right column in the "Additional Information" section (below the tags). The first piece of info. will tell you what camera was used, and there's a "More Properties" link which takes you to the EXIF data.

I'm not sure when you would use "cover closed," although maybe there is a small hole in the cover that would render all but a small spot of the meter ineffective, giving a more precise relfected reading.

If you open the cover, you would point the meter at the subject from as close as you can get. This is called a "reflected light" reading. If you take the hood off, you point the meter at the source of light for an "incident light" reading. This is useful when you can not get very close to the subject. Just point the meter in the direction of the light source for your reading. Usually, this would mean "over your shoulder" if you were facing the subject, but it depends on where the major light source is located. I'm going to kind of wing it in this explanation, because I am not positive what is hooked to what, but you will be able to try it and see if it works. There should really only be one way to do it, so I think I can figure it out.

First, decide which type of reading you want so you can open or close the cover or take the hood off.

Next, hold the meter in the appropriate direction and read the light value from the needle on the bottom portion of the meter.

Next, rotate the outer ring so that the right ^ mark lines up with the value you just obtained. You example shows "Cover Open" lined up at about 8.

Next, turn the middle ring to set the ISO (ASA) by rotating the dial so that the white bars surround the appropriate number. The red arrow will also point to the ISO number. In your example, it is set for ISO 100.

Finally, all you have to do is choose a setting that matches up on the f-stop dial and shutter speed dial. Some will not be attainable by your camera, but some will. You will choose based on whether you want a faster shutter speed or a smaller aperture, etc.

In your example for ISO 100 film in 8 ft-candles of light, you could use any of the following:

1 second, between f/32 and f/45 (f/32-45)
1/2 second, between f/22-32
1/5 second @ f/16
1/10 second @ f/11
1/25 sec @ f/8
1/50 sec @ f/5.6
1/100 sec @ f/4
and so on.
