What is the best value for money entry level pro studio kit available from UK suppliers??
Moving over from landscape, urban, wildlife shoots to portrait, glamour shoots etc and cant decide which is the best studio kit to buy. Want something durable but value for money and not gonna break the bank????

Trying to recommend a system is very difficult,so much depends on your particular approach.I would recommend that you look up the various glamour type studios that advertise in the amateur photo mags and try one or two that are near to where you live.Only by trying various set ups can you decide how many and which type of units you need.A good starting point is a single flash head which has enough power for you to use your prefered lens and f number combination.Soft boxes and brollies will absorb several stops so you may need to go for a bit more power than a normal on camera flash gun.The ability to use cables and slave triggers is an advantage.The dedicated modules for your camera are not necessary as most studio workers tend to stick to only a few settings for their work.Some of the professional suppliers do let you try their stock in their demonstration studios,so it's worth trying them,or their trade stands at shows but there you may not be able to make a considered choice.When I first went to medium format cameras of my own I spent a full day at Jessops original store in Leicester and another at Leeds Professional Centre before making the considerable investment.Talking to the pro suppliers covers such things as reliability and back up servicing,which are important if you are a working professional.Backgrounds and reflectors have just as important effect,so your choice must allow you to spend on all these extras.
